Hello GED 512!
My name is Luke Shubin and I graduated high school in 1997 from Walnut High School. I then went on to college the next fall and graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2003 with a degree in communications/advertising. I went in the work force for a number of years performing graphic design/advertising services. l learned many quality computer skills to help me be a productive worker. I went into the field of teaching in 2009. I have taught at the Clovis Online School (Clovis, CA) fully online in the areas of technology and graphic design. After that position, I have taught face-to-face using a hybrid format at Calabasas High School and currently at Pasadena High School in the same subject areas. I have also took on the design adviser position for the school's yearbook and newspaper for this school year at PHS.
I am on a mac everyday in my classroom at Pasadena High and I love it! I love the fact that I can utilize technology on a daily basis and help my students learn new things everyday. I also have a HP touchscreen laptop for personal use and it has its benefits. I believe it is important to utilize both Mac and PC so you will never feel uncomfortable in a computer environment.
I am in in the Ed Multimedia program to learn the newest trends in Education Technology and Instructional Design. I love the fact that I have sharpened my design skills along the way. I hope to gain my master's to be able to teach at the college level and be an expert in my field. I will be working on my thesis project next quarter.
You already sound like an expert to me! lol. I wish I had as much experience with technology as you! It is great that even with so much knowledge in the subject already, you still seek to learn more. I think that's one of the marks of a great educator: someone who is as eager to learn as they are to teach. Good luck with your thesis project! =]
ReplyDeleteThank you Vanessa! I see that you lived in Madera. I lived in Fresno for a few years and went to Fresno State to attain my credential and start my teaching career.
